Does anybody hear a hint of tribute to George Harrison's My Sweet Lord?
I love me some Conor... and the last time I heard him on a Supergroup track was on Jenny Lewis' Handle Me With Care (with Conor, Ben and Matt).. That was also a Harrison B-side on "This is Love", but was released by a different band.. a bunch of nobody's aka Bob, Tom, Roy and Jeff.
That is an interesting point. The melody and arrangement of "My Sweet Lord" are so cheerful and upbeat, I had forgotten that the theme is about struggling with faith, not about celebrating it. "I really want to see you, but it takes so long." Personally, I can relate to a song that is an honest expression of doubt, because it is so human to feel that way. I hate feeling doubtful, but I try to remember that it will pass.

PS - Conor & the Mystic Valley Band are pretty amazing. They were the opening act for Wilco this past summer; saw them in Wilmington, DE. Best night of music, ever.
