He's reflecting on what happened and how he thought something wasn't there and how that ended the relationship, and he feels so much remorse, but he knows the girl probably won't give him another chance because she doesn't trust him anymore.

"Guess I was a lost cause...you still kept me alive." You can tell that the boy in this relationship didn't believe in himself...at all, and his only reason for not giving up/dying (extreme, I know.) was this girl. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be taken figuratively.
"So if you are listening, I'm regretting it tonight. Maybe it's too late...but if you ever could forgive me, I just wanna say-" He really wants this girl to know that she meant a lot to him, and still does, and he's willing to do anything to get her back.
I love this song, a lot. I'm surprised it barely has any comments. In my opinion, this is the most meaningful song by the Friday Night Boys...and it hits close to home. I guess I had a guy like that...but I also felt how whoever wrote this song felt. I cried the first, second, third, and well, the 20th time I heard this song.
