I agree with satellitemind. I too have been a DCFC fan as well as a Twilight fan. And I do think this song will fit in perfectly. I think it has a bittersweet sound.
Meet me on your best behavior
Meet me at your worst
For there will be no stone unturned
Or bubble left to burst
Let me lay beside you darling
Let me be your man
And let our bodies intertwine
But always understand
That everything ends.
I think this is the guy (I guess in this case, Edward...since it's for the movie) saying he's ready for whatever reaction Bella has when he leaves. He will understand if she's angry or not, grief stricken or not...but to make no mistake, his mind is made up that he's leaving forever. "For there will be no stone unturned and no bubble left to burst" really conveys the guy will leave and make sure he will not leave room for her hope of his return/reuniting.As in the book...Edward thought of everything. He secretly took all momentos of pics, the song he made for her...everything. He didnt want her to have anything to cling to. He hoped it would make her forget him. I think the "meet me on the equinox...meet me half way" kinda says to me that he's begging her to agree that it's best that it ends. He wants her to see the wisdom of it.
But that's my take on the lyrics. ALSO...is it me or does the guitar rythym seem similiar to Paramore's Decode guitar melody? For continuity...I kinda like that. Vastly different yet a vague common thread.
