I'm starting to get sick of people giving Oberst all of the credit. While he is a great artist and all, this is obviously an Ward song, and so shouldn't be enjoyed through an Oberst filter as other songs on the album.
That being said, none of these tracks should be enjoyed through any filters at all, instead enjoyed independently as a new band that the 4 have created.
i agree with all these comments. this is my favorite song on the album, and i was immediately hooked the first time i heard it. i also have a hard time not considering each individual track a song of the musician who obviously wrote it to begin with. i'm trying to curb that and experience monsters of folk as a whole band, not a group of my favorite musicians just guest starring on each other's songs. now to contradict what i just said, this is obviously another beautiful m. ward song. :)

Thank you!!
Yes, Thank you! Although Conor is clearly one of the best singer/songwriters out there right now, This is 100% an M. Ward song.

But this is the best song on the album without a doubt.
