"The tune is useless" is basically saying that you can sing the songs (walk the walk) all you want, but it doesn't really mean anything unless you say "thank you to the one who needs the credit", or God.
It says "you slave and save to be someone you do not love," meaning that you try so hard to be what you're supposed to be as a Christian, but you're really not getting anywhere. I think the whole song can be summed up with one of the final lines, "What's the point of living if it's all for yourself?"
The part about finding another exit is saying that if you can find a way out of this world without giving credit to "the one who needs the credit", let me know (I'm curious).
