Ok, my take on what this is about. (Could be fully wrong). I think this is about doing stuff for money that goes very much beyond your principles, yet the money makes it addictive. Eg drug dealing or -on the less illegal site- doing stuff at work that you goes beyond your thoughts on proper behavior.
