I think it could have many meanings. To me, I think it could be about death and how you want to escape the weight and reality of the situation and go peacefully. Or it could be about just escaping any painful situation in general and putting mind over matter. Whatever its about, the lyrics are beautiful and poetic. I love this song so very much.
