You all say you are big As I Lay Dying fans and you also say that every song they write is about god or jesus (no capitalization on purpose). You all say they are a Christian band but they really aren't. If you were actual fans then you would have gone to their website and looked at the FAQ section. Seriously, you are poseurs. I'm not calling myself a big fan, but at least I take the time to get information so that I won't be ignorant. Go here and read the first FAQ: http://www.asilaydying.com/faqs.html
Tim says that the songs are about "life, struggles, mistakes, relationships and other issues that don't fit entirely in the spiritual category." The only Christian thing about the band is how he writes about these things: through his perspective as a Christian. That's all.
As for this song, it could be about god and what all of you are saying. But really? God's complaining that people aren't listening to him? What is he, five? It's just about someone who has a lot of feelings for someone else but that person doesn't pay him any attention; "...words just fall near your feet...be heard in your sweet ears just once" He just wants her to know he exists, basically.
As you can tell, I'm not religious but that doesn't matter. You can believe what you want to. It's good to believe in something. What matters is all you Christians pushing your faith on everyone and saying all of this is about god. Take the time to educate yourselves and stop being ignorant.
I really don't feel like arguing because As I Lay Dying aren't up there on my list of favorites. I like them; I like their subject matter because it is about relationships with human beings.
