Well not vampires per say, but probably a sanguinarian. You know, one of those people that are actually convinced that they're a vampire or an 'emotional vampire'.
I get the feeling that she is one of them and she has convinced him that she really is a vampire, though he remains sceptical. It kinds of reminds me a little of 'The Lady Of The House Of Love" by Angela Carter. I'm not too sure why.
I think this album has a strong theme of belief within it, or at least a sense of something being built up again. I remember reading an interview inwhich a member of the band said that Illumination and Ashes has a link, and I think whereas Ashes deconstructed alot of things, new links, ideas and faiths are formed in Illumination.
