this song being harmonized and more melodic like blink-182 doesn't mean anything negative. harmony and melody are great elements that add to a song, hence this song being so great. not only does it have an incredible message, but it has a sound that even more people can connect to. furthermore, blink-182 doesn't mean to stand for anything political. being a successful band is a personal (band) choice with what to do with your money or pursue more commercial endeavors. one of the reasons i look up to stza and loc so much is because they don't pursue anything commercial when they could so easily.
all in all this is an incredible and intelligent song.
