I don't think anyone got the meaning of this song right yet.
I think it's about leaving everything behind, just severing the umbilical cord of society, quitting your job, abandoning your loved ones for a greater cause, in order to travel without any particular goal, or in order to 'find' oneself perhaps. Sounds kinda gay but that was my impression of this song.
