I love this song! I think it's about this guy who really carerd (and possibley loved) about this girl but had a one night stand, and now she always excpects something new to bring her down. And he's saying how she shouldn't take him back (but at the same time trying to prove that he really does care, and maybe still stay) because he doesn't want her to get hurt. And saying if she lets him go do it easily.
