This is a wonderful song. The opening accoustic piece, the decision to have the vocals blend into the background, the placement of the horns, the strong backing drumming. It has a very poignant quality to it; I suppose because to an extent, given the constant references to the natural world, we can all relate to the relationships presented in the song. That of our relationship with other people and the environment itself.

Foggy air and the wind and the mountain top, rocks, trees, stars, the moon, island, sand, the roar of waves, the pounding surf, the earth, the sun, space, molten rock, skin, the ground. Regardless of what part of this planet you inhabit, all these things are known to all of us. He relates his experiences with this other person by constant reference to what is around him. It is a song that, for me, truly reaffirms what it means to be a human being. The acceptance of death and how it can all be perceived as a vast, interconnected, eternal process. Every thing comes from the same source; the moon and molten rock and man alike.
