GlorifiedG79: Perhaps in retrospect you can understand how Ed was so right on when it came to the Bush Administration. This was a group of people that took hold of our country and ran away with it. They led us into an unjustified war from which we still cannot extricate ourselves. The billions of dollars (not to mention lives) that were lost have led to the horrible economic situation we now find ourselves. I find it sad that you think rock music should not be political. Rock music can be an expression of whatever is on one's mind. I suppose there are some people who would prefer that Ed just write bland lyrics, but this is a big part of whom Eddie Vedder seems to be: a responsible, caring citizen of the world. He's just expressing his opinion. I, for one, happen to agree with him, especially in this song. Bush decided "they" are the enemy; in fact "they" needn't have been.
