Since her (Avril's) music made radio airplay and sold out well to the masses, Fefe was (unknowingly) being geared up as Def Jam's response to that particular music scene. I've always been in support of Fefe because she got out there and did her thing, yet there was always fuss that she was trying to capitalize on Avril's success (both of them being Canadian). I think 'As A Blonde' is a tongue in cheek retort on that situation. Being labeled, 'the black avril' and never getting a chance to truly shine in her field without having an unfair, constant comparison. So what she's singing here is if she came back as a blonde (the signature pop icon hair color) maybe the success, the wealth, the fan following, would just land in her lap.
