Lyric discussion by pattons

This is my all-time favorite AJJ song. It's witty and original, yet stems from an idea that I think almost everyone has toyed with at some point -- a way to get out of life, guilt free. The obvious solution? Don't commit suicide, get murdered.

I often try to write my own crappy songs and so the first verse obviously speaks to me. I write about what I know and that often involves the people around me. People get very anxious and suspicious when they know songs refer to them. I have driven away many through the truths that come out as a result.

The second verse reminds me of those thoughts that creep in late at night, but seem silly and trivial in the morning. "It's hard to fall asleep"

The third verse is the clincher and transitions into the catchy solution/chorus. "You hate the taste of alcohol and medicine. Well, the answer is plain to see."
