i dont know but...I think the deeper meaning of this song is that everyone steals somebody's heart, and you cant really help if you dont love the person back...but when it happeneds to you, and someone steals your heart and they dont love you back, then you know how it hurts and you think back to the person you hurt and how you they handled it, and how you took it for granted and how now you know what they went through...i love her songs lyrics, they can have so many meanings and they are so deep, she exposes everything to the very core.

I mean it makes way more sense with how the sentences are constructed that she realizes when he's done with her how she actually loved him, but it's too late 'cause she's taken it all for granted, so she starts to understand how he felt when she was unavailable to his love for whatever reason, maybe confusion
Way too common situation and in my opinion makes more sense than a random change of recipient, especially with all the "send me" bridging...
