in my opinion singers have all freedom to "tell stories", people tend to identify these foretold stories as if they were part of artist's life for real, that might not be the case sometimes. it could be based on some real fact, heard from friends, or maybe the ambiance he recalls from a film, so on. singers are creative spirits, they have this freedom to do much things even personify other genders, represent characters, so in my opinion that shouldn't be taken as if they're necessarily talking about themselves (indeed most do, but that's not necessary the case always) - that restricts one creative potential somewhat, in my opinion.
to conclude, whether it's about Brandon sexuality or not isn't important for me, I wouldn't dislike or like his musics better if it was the case.
