I, personally, take the song's meaning like this – you lost loved ones and the only way to be with them again is to die yourself. "You wanna swim with us, you gotta get to the water," and "So put a coin inside your mouth" (Reminds me of passage across the river Styx into the Underworld, Hades) & "Wade out to your knees / You crumble down and give yourself to the sea".
That's just my opinion. But it's absolutely one of my favorite songs.
