I LOVE IT!!! This song is clearly about living a fucked-up, drugged-out life of crime. I know EXACTLY what that's like, except for the heroin. I've never fucked with that shit, just ecstacy and all those fun psychadelics. He speaks of "broken laws and stolen cars,' 'dying to find the truth," changing his life and what he does, judging this book (himself) by its fucked-up cover, searching for redemption, and sleepless nights. This is definitely about living a hardcore life and trying to change for the better.
The first four verses make me happy: "Six in the morning, what could it be? When you look in the mirror what do you see? An overgrown kid who lost his soul. I don't know why, but I feel so old" I get that feeling everyday, even though I am only 19 years old at the moment.
