when i listen to this song, i get i completely different perspective from IDontKnowAnything. not that i think yours is wrong, i just feel it differently.
in my perspective, and i guess this is my answer to baby83, it's not that she ACTUALLY messed something or anything up, it's more that she's trying to use that as a way to get over the relationship. in my head it feels like something along the lines of guy and girl are in love or just a relationship or whatever. guy breaks up with girl, goes out with someone else. original girl is heartbroken, thinks she must have just never been good enough for guy and just tries to adjust to the changes. it makes her upset to see him with the other girl, but she was listening when everyone said to let him go and she's trying to be tough.
that's at least what it would mean if i was singing this.
