this song is talkting about how everyone tries to fill their lives with things that they think will satify them but in the end they just end up feeling empty and lost. we look for happiness in the places we shouldn't, we think that a person, material object, a certain look, etc. can fill the whole we have, the emptiness we long to fill but the one and only person who can do that is staring us right in the face. it's god, so why do we still look for these things, why are we running?
