The last bit reminds me so much of the wars in Chechnya... the Budyonnovsk hospital hostage crisis, or the Beslan school siege, both perpetrated by Shamil Basayev.

I disagree with the view that this song is about standing up to the government... to me, it seems it's just about how mankind wages war against itself, all throughout history... that senselessly bellicose mentality.
