Since nobody seems to get the real meaning of the song...
To my knowledge this is NOT about a girl like some people thought.
I could be wrong, maybe this song has more than one meaning, but if it has anything to do with a girl, that is not the main meaning or the most important one.
On absolutepunk.net, there is a user named anamericangod. From what I've noticed during my time on that site he's fairly popular on the site and very opinionated, especially when it comes to music.
He wrote a blog called "The Scene is Dead. Long Live the Scene" where he gives his opinions on the current bands and how they care more about their image than the music they make, and how a lot of music these days lacks sincerity and integrity because many of these bands mostly care about making money. You can bet that Cobra Starship is one of those bands he's referring to (just read the blog and you'll see what I mean).
After Gabe Saporta helped the Millionaires get a deal with decaydance that says they'll release their next album (contrary to popular belief they were never actually signed to the label), Joe (aka anamericangod) called Gabe Saporta out on this in one of Gabe's tumblr posts, he ended his comment with "but hey, it's just rock 'n roll, right?". Gabe responded to this, and obviously read Joe's blog because he ended his response with "but hey, the scene is dead, right?"
This song is definitely in response to Joe's blog.
example: "it's all right
'Cause I got a pretty face
I guess that I can sing all right"
and the title is also pretty good evidence.
I should also add that Joe makes some really good points in this blog that I agree with, and considering the fact that cobra starship's new album is absolutely terrible in my opinion and the opinion of many others, you cobra fans might want to check out his blog. Just google the scene is dead absolutepunk.net and it'll probably come up in your search. Also, I apologize if I got any of the facts wrong and feel free to correct me if I did.
PS. If anyone comments on the irony of my username, I already know I need to change it considering I only like one or two of the bands on Fueled By Ramen's current roster now.
