A few people have said they expected more out of this song, but I think the complexity and real passion in the song comes from the guitar work. To me that says almost more than the lyrics do. And don't get me wrong, I'm a total lyrics person, but in this song, the guitar speaks more about what the song is about rather than what the lyrics say.
