I think this song is about people in general being used by their governments as a workforce or army to fight and barter for their own selfish gains. Their own power. We are lead blindly to believe we want all these things and the fight is therefore worth taking part in. All the while we are slowly "dying in silence", not allowed to have any say in the real actions being undertaken behind closed doors.
Essentially the we are pawns in the governments path to domination, without knowing it.
Btw, these lyrics are slightly...wrong. There should be certain parts repeated, and well, other parts are just not the right words.
