The lyricist [Patrick Stickles} grew up just down the street from me in Glen Rock. We both attended the same elementary school (central) and you can check these facts in my time outside the womb. San Francisco is where GRHS went for the choir trip some amount of years ago and he was on it. That's why it says san francisco. Mr. Mcdermmet is a high school math teacher who chaperoned the trip. and you were probably right about the tripping on acid, and evidently they were taking hits from a bong or of some alcahol and he passed out or something.
