ok... Here is my very literal interpretation of the song.

There once used to be a great warrior who fought for a cause. He was victorious and decided to settle down. However, a transformation occurs in his life (literally, it says "drink from the chalice and be reborn") and he discovers that his job is not quite done yet. He understands that the past events were only a prelude to something even bigger and that he has to take up the sword again. And now, having reached the truth, he feels reborn and fights with even greater conviction.

Well, that's it, taking it from a literal point of view. Of course, it can all be an allegory.

An error occured.
