I think this song could be seen in two ways:
The standard "Where is your God" Nieztsche-style antithiest song(bleh). That's what's apparent.
But I think, especially in the last line (God has no time or sympathy), that it's about someone who's been decadent their whole lives, and then when it matters most, they want to "turn over a new leaf", with no type of repentance, remorse, etc.
