I think the song is about him having to make a decision that would either end in him leaving her or choosing the other life. The decision is too hard for him to make and he doesn't want to hurt her, so he asks for help. But he's so caught up in the other life that he needs her to untie him. Whatever she tells him to do is what he'll do.
