I think I heard somewhere that the song was about Jason's partner having to be alone waiting for him to return when he was away on tour and the tension that caused between Jason wanting to 'conquer the last frontier' with the band but also wanting to be where she is.. Could be getting confused with another band though as the band Emery has a song called 'In a win win situation' which has a similar meaning. But it still fits with this song either way =P
