I think there are some strong christian overtones in here, as with many KsE songs.

All the screamed vocals, I believe explore what life is like for those who do not know God and do not feel the inner peace of a christian. Not neccesarily how it feels, but how life will end up: 'dying the slowest death'.

I believe the clean, melodic vocals show how life is and will end up for christians, and it generally just concisely explores the idea of peace and simply breathing in calmly, knowing that you're not alone.

The blunt, final fate of non-believers is conveyed in the bridge section 'from dust you were born, into the ashes you'll return'
