The first two verses describe a guy who wants to take his time (a breath), show the girl he loves everything she has never seen and would heat the weather just to hold her. The next verse is about all that couldn't be more perfect even if they tried to change things (retake the photograph) : the kiss, the holding hands, walking around with no plan, etc. Still the girl doesn't seem to feel the same way since he'd rather forget all this. But the guy just ain't able to move on so he'll call anywhere and pretend things are the same. The quote is about giving a try to a relationship even though the person seems too good for you.
