Im thinking, it's about a guy who's really accepted the fact that his ex was cheating on him. All he wants in the world is a little closure, maybe a reason why he wasn't good enough or something he may have done to cause all these drama.
He's so frustrated with the way things played out that he removes himself from the world and locks himself in his room waiting for those answers, telling himself that he can do better, that he doesn't need any his ex, that he's "overcome getting stepped on and abused", but really its a lie and he still has strong feelings for her.
I think the verse about the cameramen, news, media, basically represents him losing everything, even the will to shave in his search for answers. The cameramen and media could represent his friends whom are constantly telling him, you don't need her, she's a bitch, find someone else. He "denies [their] requests", which pretty much means he disregards their advice because, really, he still loves her and all he wants is for her to be happy. (Which is romantic but doesn't work in the real world =P)
i'm sure most of us have felt this way before after a break-up when we're not the ones at fault. i know i have, and thats when i found this song, and fell in love with the gay blades!
