old man chasing young woman

they say the days grow short though morning come as had 20,000 have before and I am sober still with the days that will not fill and each minute a reminder of this empty cups remainder an hour is forever when there is nothing new to do

at dawn when I was strong, she caught my heavy eye how light she seems as she could fly and greets the morning as something new

I chase her just for sport to start my heart and reembark on looking forward instead of upon the hour and time will flow like water when ther's something new to do
