In my opinion, its about 2 people, one of them is in another relation or just unable to be with the other person.
Yet it still haunts him/her in his/her sleep and can't get rid of them.
But he still keeps it a secret and will continue to keep it a secret because maybe he/she is too scared or knows it won't work out between them.
It's maybe a failed relationship or one that was meant to be but never was.
....it kinda touches me on a personal level.
