that's not what I got out of it. he's really in love with this girl and sometimes he doesn't feel like he is good enough and treats her wrong. and he is apologizing for those actions.
I agree with both these comments. He puts her on a pedastool, and he has made mistakes, but that is only because he feels like she deserves to be there and she can't see it, cause she doesn't feel good enough for him. I also think the line goes "Cause i didn't mean to be mean when I said..."
