I love this song soo much, its complexity and how there's SOO much meaning to the words, but you just can't figure it out. :P

Well, this may not even be close to what may be the real story, but i think it's about a guy who fell in love -- DEEPLY inlove, which i think the line "Dug a hole; now I can't get out " was referring to as a metaphor. But as he's falling inlove with her and go further on in their relationship, she ends up hurting him really badly, maybe cheated on him or just broken up with him. For this reason, he closes off everyone, and doesn't want to have to experience that hurt he dealt before.

Consequently, from doing that, he ended up feeling empty as ever , for example "Hide away the love that I've found, Built a wall. Now I can't get round". I think the wall was a metaphor for him building walls around his heart and emotions. He still has feelings for this girl, but it's hurting him more knowing that she's moving on, and he can't do anything about it. Lyrics that emphasize her moving on is "Keep your head up high,Keep mine dug in the ground". She's slowly drifting away, ie "Don't think I can find you now; Not this time".

Just a thought, and my opinion. (:
