My interpretation of the meaning is dependent on two facts:
The lyricist/band are actually thinkers.
The lyricist/band are trying to alight a new idea on the listener.
The name of the song, itself, should lend some hints to the "meaning". "Americunt Evolving Into Useless Psychic Garbage". This would mean your "average" american who has "no interest in thinking" and rather "maintain the status quo".
