I think this song tells us..not to get too attached to anything because in the end..we'll be hurt..because everything we love(or get attached to) will not necessarily turn to dust..but go away or stop..or end. whether it be a boyfriend, girlfriend, the relationship itself, or materialistic possessions, perhaps a way of life. like in.the.dark said..life is bound to change.
