I doubt the lyrics were intended to be analyzed to the level that some of you seem to be doing it. When I think of Japandroids, I just think of being young, free, and having a good time.
Sure their lyrics are awesome, but their purpose seems to be more in backing up the music than standing out on their own.
i agree, their music is about the rhythm and the beat not so much about the lyrics. i think their name suggests that too, japandroids isnt the most serious name....

I really wanted to name the band Pleasure Droids and Dave really wanted to name the band Japanese Scream and neither of us wanted the other name, so I just combined Pleasure Droids and Japanese Scream into Japandroids. At the time, I don’t think either of us really loved it, but it was something that just kept going."...
