I'd have to agree with JustAnotherRomantic..
its about someone trying to be something they aren't, thinking they'd be happy with their self but really all that make up they're hiding under makes them feel worse, because the pressure to be perfect is just too much.
and I'm probably wrong, but the part "mirrors tell the worst lies" is saying that whoever this song is about sees someone ugly and not good enough while being their self when they look in the mirror, so they think they need to alter them self somehow, but really, they're perfect the way they are.
