Anyways, it sounds like the narrator pretty well fucked up his relationship with Cynthia Anne. It seems like he might have killed a romantic rival ("I seen you dancing with another man/and he was holding your hand") ("That bright kitchen, that old cleaver,
the spots of blood, the fallen phone reciever,
don�t you get tired of seeing those pictures?" where the pictures = the mug shots and crime scene photos). The narrator's been in jail for a long while (20 years?) and now is out and feels he's reformed, so he tries to rekindle his relationship with Cynthia. She rejects him outright, and by the end it sounds like he's losing it pretty hard. I love the scream at the end; it's so desperate.
