I agree with it maybe being that a friend of his died but if you've read the book the Gargoyle it might mean something slightly different to you. I thought it was maybe an intense relationship where the guy wasnt in a very good place in his life and a woman/girl was looking after him but hes not willing to get better. he feels lost and shes done all she can to try and save him so what else is she to do ? could be to do with a drug addict etc. but please read The Gargoyle - Andrew Davidson. its an incredibly written book and i think it connects with this song....
