These people created the delusion to make us servants feel that we have a choice over who runs this country and are important in the selection process. We do not. Having options doesn't mean you can always pick a winner.
And the sobering reality is that even if true democracy broke loose they would just 'make the economy scream until we vote responsibly.' The very end about 'until we vote responsibly' is not saying until we make the correct choices in candidates to better our situation it is saying that the powers at be will make our lives very difficult and piss everyone off until we let them force our hand back to the state that it is in now.
