I quite like this song--very catchy.

As for interpretation, I think it's fairly straightforward. It's about two friends who likely began with a flirtatious relationship. It seems like a romantic relationship looked like it would eventually develop, but then the girl went out with another guy. Because they were never going out, the original guy wants to pretend like he doesn't care, but he obviously does. He resents the other man, and he's beginning to resent the girl, though he still likes her so he can't stop seeing her. He feels like he's been duped, and he thinks (or perhaps hopes) the girl's actions are going to come back to bite her. There's a hint of wanting to get over her, but he can't just settle with a normal relationship. He goes over her letters, can't escape the feelings, and grows increasingly frustrated with his relationship with her. However, instead of talking about these feelings, he bottles them in. They don't talk about their relationship, what it could have been, what they might want it to be, or even how it got to be in its state. They avoid the subject of a possible love between the two of them altogether, and it's destroying any sort of relationship that they had in the first place.
