I agree with most comments above, but nine millimeter I think is just the size of the bullet, I don't think it has any specific reasons that it's used 3 times, because in the song it also seems more like an echo, so...
And I agree more with the ideea of the war, because the last part is more like a part of pure despair, as in the This is how it must end, When the soldiers are kinda through with all the killings, they just kill themselves to stop the insanity in their heads, also, the part about the silver eagle says it's time to, The gun tells them to do it, They become a part of their gun, and not the other way around, they've gone completely insane, I guess...
