Simply one of U2's greatest ever songs, both musically and lyrically! There are multiple layers of meaning here, most of which have already been covered by previous posters.

Personally it seems like a "sister song" to Exit in lots of ways. But whereas the disillusioned subject of that song actually ends up committing the ultimate act of violence (debatable whether it's murder or suicide)... I believe that in "Love Is Blindness", although the person may be in a state of emotional agony and is tempted to do something drastic, ultimately they don't give in to the despairing desire to "end it all" (illustrated by the lyrics: "baby a dangerous idea, that ALMOST makes sense").

In other words, they've almost reached a state of sad resignation regarding the "death" of the relationship, but are not yet ready to look back on, or examine the situation in the light of day. (ex: "Love is blindness I don't want to see. Won't you wrap the night around me" = Burying one's head in the sand).
