Damon Albarn's falsetto is simply unbeatable. As in Country Sad Ballad Man, Damon uses his voice at different pitches for call-&-response.
It's unusual that the phrase 'cowboy song' is in the lyrics; that sort of title doesn't usually appear in the song (examples of Blur's: Good Song, Sweet Song, Song 2). I'll contradict my self, however, & note that it does in TQTB&TQ's History Song. maybe this has some significance.

Does any one know when this song was recorded?
I´ve found it in this soundtrack Dead Man On Campus (Soundtrack) [SOUNDTRACK] Various Artists - Soundtracks - 1998
