No comments? I just got the Illumination album. This was the first song to catch my attention. I was listening to the album while running, and this song came on and I just wanted to stop and lie down and listen to it. It's incredible how much this song can drag on me. It tugs at my heart strings, and I begin to feel sad even when I'm not.
I think this song is about a woman who has lost someone close to her. I would say maybe her daughter because of "she should have outlived me". She can't be comforted by her partner/husband/friend. But after a death, like the male is saying, you need someone to help you through the grief and anger.
